This is the kind of place you don’t plan to love. It just sneaks up on you.
Tucked beside a quiet stream, a few steps from my co-working space, it became an accidental ritual—lunch with colleagues, coffee between meetings, a warm refuge from Irish weather doing what it does best. Sit near the window and the stream does half the work for you. It slows things down. Reminds you that deadlines are optional, at least for an hour.
Inside, it’s small and cozy in the way that feels earned, not curated. A real fire. Real warmth. The kind of room where conversations soften without anyone trying.
The food? Consistently excellent. Honest, well-executed, no ego. The coffee holds its own. And the smart move—always—is the weekly specials. That’s where the kitchen stretches a little, where you can tell someone back there actually cares.
I kept coming back. That’s really the highest compliment.
What a lovely poem about Lovage!! Thank you Jason and see you soon!!
